Michael Pijoan

Michael Pijoan earned his bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he studied with Jennifer John, Megumi Kado and John Hilton. Before attending the university he was a pupil of Stacy LeSartre’s in Fort Collins.
At the university he was a member of CU’s symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra and opera orchestra. He taught at CU’s Department of Continuing Education and has served as a sectional rehearsal coach for the Boulder Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Michael attended the Aspen Music Festival and School where he played in the Aspen Sinfonia Orchestra and David Zinman’s American Academy of Conducting Orchestra.
His teaching style reflects the traditional way that he was taught and he strives to help his students develop a good ear for intonation and a thorough understanding of tone production in their music.
